Safeguarding Statement

LCRFC is committed to providing a safe, positive and inclusive environment for every
adult involved in rugby.
We recognise that some adults may be more vulnerable to harm, and we take seriously
our responsibility to safeguard their welfare in line with the RFU Safeguarding Adults in
Rugby Union Policy and Procedures.
Our principles
• Every adult has the right to live safely, free from abuse, neglect and
discrimination.
• Everyone should be treated with dignity, fairness and respect.
• Rugby should be enjoyable, supportive and inclusive for all participants.
Our Commitments
• Safe culture - we promote an environment where safeguarding concerns are
taken seriously and responded to promptly.
• Clear reporting - all volunteers and members understand their responsibility to
report concerns to the Club Safeguarding O icer or directly to the RFU
Safeguarding Team.
• Safer recruitment - we follow appropriate checks and good practice principles
when appointing volunteers and o icials.
• Partnership working - we work with the RFU, our Constituent Body Safeguarding
Manager and statutory agencies when required.
• Support for adults at risk - we recognise and support adults who may have care
and support needs, mental health challenges, disabilities or temporary
vulnerabilities.
If You Have a Concern
• Contact the Club Safeguarding O icer (details below)
• Report directly to the RFU Safeguarding Team
• If someone is in immediate danger, call the police
