London Cornish mourns the loss of former prop Gordon Humble at the age of 85. A tough, uncompromising prop who played for the club from its early days through to the 1970's, Humble also represented Middlesex in the County Championship. On retiring he moved to Poole in Dorset, where he opened a beach cafe and windsurfing school, then a repair garage with his sons. He kept in close touch with the clubs fortunes and his funeral was well attended by his former teammates, who sang him off at the request of his widow Helen. Cornish sends its condolences to Helen, to his twin sons David and Roger, and to his daughter Polly.
