It is with great sadness that we announce that Peter Webster has died following a fight against cancer. Pete joined London Cornish during the 1969/70 season on moving to London from his home in Worcester. An enthusiastic back five forward he was known for his lineout jumping in the days before lifting. He had an encyclopaedic knowledge of the music of the 60’s and 70’s (a great tourist, he was word perfect on ‘any' song by ‘any’ artist and could sing constantly from Newquay to Hammersmith without repetition, Peter always harboured the wish to have been born Eric Clapton his idol) and was always great company in the bar. Pete was a chartered surveyor and moved to Norfolk to continue to practice. Our condolences are sent to his wife Angie, his daughters Amy and Laura and his grandchildren.
